Hola… En esta página web encontrarán enlaces para una serie de presentaciones bilingües (español/inglés) sobre la eco-comunidad de Gaviotas, en Los Llanos de Colombia.
En Gaviotas la gente vive usando la energía y los recursos del sol, del viento, del agua, de la tierra, y de los árboles. Desde 1968 la comunidad ha adaptado e inventado muchos tipos de tecnologías alternativas, y plantado un enorme bosque biodiverso de pinos. Actualmente la comunidad esta considerado tener saldo cero de emisiones de dioxido de carbono.
Cada presentación corta sobre Gaviotas cubre un aspecto de la historia, la vida y el trabajo de la comunidad, o un viaje que hice allá en 2012.
Espero que estaran interesantes para estudiantes del 4o grado hasta los de la escuela secundaria, y quizás para los adultos también.
Las presentaciones son un trabajo en progreso, y muy imperfecto… así que si tengan preguntas o sugerencias, me encantaría saberlas. Me las pueden mandar.

Hi… On this webpage you’ll find links to a series of bilingual presentations (Spanish/English) about the eco-community of Gaviotas, in the tropical plains of Colombia.
In Gaviotas people live using the energy and resources of the sun, the wind, the water, the earth, and the trees. Since 1968 the community has adapted and invented many kinds of alternative technologies, and planted an enormous biodiverse forest of pine trees. The community is currently considered carbon-neutral.
Each of these short presentations about Gaviotas covers an aspect of the history, life, and work of the community, or a trip that I made there in 2012.
I hope that they’ll be interesting for students from 4th grade through high school, and maybe for adults, as well.
